The use of Rocket as an addition to salads and sandwiches is increasing as a phenomenal rate because it is delicious and nutritious.
How to Sow: Choose a well-drained site in full sun. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or, after frosts, sow directly in a well prepared seedbed. Sow seeds 2 cm apart and to a depth of 1 cm.
Seedling Care: Keep trays or seedbed evenly moist during the germination period of 5-8 days. Apply vegetable fertiliser two weeks after germination for healthier plants and maximum crop. Hints and Tips: Best grown in cooler weather. Old leaves will have a stronger flavour. Younger leaves are better suited to salads and mesclun mixes, where they add a spicy edge.
